The popular royalty free music and sound effects (SFX) site Artlist has revamped its subscription plans, offering reduced pricing for social media video creators.
I thought that the existing ‘Music + SFX’ plan—that provides access to both royalty free music and SFX for just $299 per year—was already a good deal. In fact, we’ve been using this plan to source all the music for our YouTube videos.
However, with the new pricing plan, you can now get access to Artlist’s full library of royalty free music and sound effects for just $119.88 per year!
New Artlist pricing plans
Artlist ‘Personal’ plan
Yep, you read that correctly; the new Artlist ‘Personal’ plan gives video creators full access to royalty free music and sound effects, to use in their video projects, for less than $120 per year. And, if you don’t want to pay for a full year upfront, you can subscribe on a monthly basis for $14.99 per month.
Opting for yearly billing is obviously better value, saving $60 over the course of 12 months. Additionally, if you use our Artlist discount code, you also get an extra 2 months free (worth $20). But it’s great to see Artlist now offering a monthly subscription option. This gives video creators a chance to try out the platform for a few months, without being locked in for an entire year.
So, what’s the catch? Well, previously, all Artlist subscription plans came with a universal license that covered almost any use case. The ‘Personal’ plan, however, has been designed for early-stage creators and social media influencers. While users get access to the entire Artlist library, they are only covered for social media content.
Specifically, the Artlist ‘Personal’ plan covers a single channel on the following platforms:
- YouTube
- Twitch
- Podcasts
- TikTok
With a growing creator economy within the social media space, I think that this new reduced pricing plan is a great option for fledgling YouTubers and social media influencers. Subscribers of the ‘Personal’ plan are still covered for YouTube monetisation.
Artlist ‘Unlimited’ plans
Replacing the ‘Music’ and ‘Music + SFX’ pricing plans is the ‘Unlimited – Music’ and ‘Unlimited – Music + SFX’ plans. Really, it’s just a name change; they still provide filmmakers and video creators with unlimited access to Artlist’s complete catalog. And depending on the specific ‘Unlimited’ plan chosen, users get access to either royalty free music only, or both music and SFX. Either way, it comes with the same universal license that we know and love from Artlist, covering both personal and commercial projects.
Specifically, the Artlist ‘Unlimited’ plans cover the following use cases:
- Unlimited social platform (everything included in the ‘Personal’ plan and any future platforms)
- Paid ads
- Client work
- Commercial work
- Podcasts
- Websites & all online platforms
- Broadcast & TV
The ‘Unlimited – Music’ plan costs just $16.60/month ($199 billed yearly), while the ‘Unlimited – Music + SFX’ plan cost $25/month ($299 billed yearly). Unlike the ‘Personal’ plan, there isn’t a monthly billing option available. But you can still use our Artlist discount code to get an extra 2 months free (saving up to $50).
Artlist ‘Enterprise’ plan
For most filmmakers and video creators, the ‘Unlimited’ plans will cover everything they need. However, for organisations and tailored licensing, you can also discuss a custom ‘Enterprise’ plan with Artlist. This includes customised terms to suit your requirements, customised licenses, dedicated curation services, and premium customer support.
So, what do you think about Artlist’s new reduced ‘Personal’ pricing plan for social media creators? Personally, I think Artlist is now an even better deal for video creators of all sizes. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
