In China’s rural Anhui province lies a treehouse crafted like a giant Jenga Tower. Timber clad cubes rotate around a spiral staircase, offering guests a 360-degree view of the surrounding Huangshan mountains.
Designed by Shanghai architecture office Bengo Studio, the Qiyunshan Tree House hotel offers a little escape to paradise with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room. The uppermost storey has been designed as a ‘landscape room’ and offers sweeping views across the forest.
A twisting road curls around one side of the property on its ascent into the mountains. On the opposite side, a curved glass hallway leads guests into the centre of the tower where they can either descend to a bedroom and bathroom below, or take the staircase to the spaces above.
While the rooms are small and cosy, the beauty of this micro hotel is its unique shape and location. While most hotels stick out like a sore thumb, the Qiyunshan Tree House combines functionality and design to complement its natural surroundings.
