What does a bear cub with writer’s block, a blue bull with wings, and an owl that doesn’t like flying have in common? They’re all finalists in this year’s Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards (CWPA)! Wow…I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since we’ve posted about this remarkable wildlife photography competition.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards were founded by Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, both professional photographers and passionate conservationists. We started covering the event in 2016, and have been enjoying the witty collections of wacky wildlife photography ever since. In fact, we even have a mega-gallery of all the best photos from the competition to date.

In addition to providing some light-hearted relief, the competition aims to highlight the important message of wildlife conservation in an engaging and positive way, working with competition partner Save Wild Orangutans.
You can support this conservation work by picking up the CWPA photo book and CWPA calendar.
This year’s winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 8 December. In the meantime, let us know your favourite snap in the comments below.
