Five times winter Olympic downhill ski racer Graham Bell, is hosting a one-off heli-skiing adventure in Alagna, Italy this coming March—and you could join him.
The trip
The four-night trip is open to 12 guests and consists of three days of off-piste skiing with a qualified mountain guide as well as a full day of heli-skiing, that includes two drops. The Olympian, now known for presenting BBC’s Ski Sunday, will be accompanying the group every day.
During the trip, guests will also have the chance to explore the off-piste terrain of the Monterosa region and enjoy the vast terrain that spans the Aosta Valley and Piedmont regions of the Northern Italian Alps.
The region
Of the region, Bell said:
The Monterosa region is one of the best off-piste ski areas in Europe and one of my personal favourites, so the chance to combine that with heliskiing was too much of an opportunity to miss. I’m really looking forward to hosting a group in March and sharing a little bit of my knowledge of the area with them and of course, skiing some fantastic terrain together.
While Bell will be hosting the trip, tour operator James Orr Heliski has been responsible for organising it. The company, run by James Orr, has been running heli-skiing trips to worldwide destinations for over fifteen years. He said:
Alagna is such a fantastic place to ski; the off-piste terrain is second to none in the Alps and even without a helicopter there’s enough to keep anyone occupied for weeks. But having the chance to access some of that terrain that’s difficult to get to by helicopter means an even more exciting adventure to look forward to—then add Graham into the mix and you have the ultimate heliski trip of a lifetime.
Logistics
But at £1,875 per person, this alpine adventure doesn’t come cheap. The price includes four nights half board accommodation on a twin basis (breakfast and dinner with wine) and return group transfers from Milan Malpensa Airport. To find out more head to www.heliski.co.uk
