As you may have seen in my previous article about the Tropic vegan travel shoe, I’m not adverse to perusing Kickstarter campaigns every once in a while. I like seeing what people have invented and what they think will be the next big thing in the market. Like the Tropic shoe, the TREXAD backpack is another one which has caught my eye. A few weeks ago I wrote an article about the best waterproof foldable backpacks on the market. Good quality ones are pretty few and far between, so when something like that comes up I jump at the chance to find out more about it.
The ultimate travel backpack
The TREXAD is a waterproof 33L backpack that folds up the size of your palm, and its credentials don’t just stop there. Unlike other foldable backpacks on the market, it also features a blow-up air cushioned back and shoulder support designed to make it more comfortable to carry.
Foldable and waterproof
Weighing only 283g (10oz), the TREXAD is incredibly lightweight and compact. Despite this, it carries a load of features. On top of its blow up back and shoulder support, which can apparently be blown up in one breath, the backpack also features adjustable shoulder straps, a sternum and waist strap and a built-in whistle. It’s designed to be the ultimate travel backpack.
Available on Kickstarter
The bag is now on Kickstarter. Early supporters can get the waterproof version of the backpack for £65 ($85) – 49% discount off its retail price.
While, of course, the bag has yet to receive any reviews I’m very impressed by the concept and hope to get my hands on one soon.
